2026–2027 Program Year
Licensure Pathway Support Program
The Association supports members through professional licensure, from mentorship and examination preparation to financial assistance with the examination fee. It also funds the scholarship programs its chapters run for students entering the profession.
What the program provides
Support at every stage of licensure
Licensure depends as much on preparation and guidance as on cost. The Association supports candidates in three respects.
One
Mentorship
Members are paired with a licensed professional who has passed the same examination and can advise them through it.
Two
Examination guidance
Preparation resources, technical webinars, and help with jurisdiction requirements and documenting qualifying experience.
Three
Financial assistance
Assistance toward the examination fee, where no employer or other organization is covering it.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
May I apply under both components?
Yes, although the two are applied for in different places. Licensing assistance is applied for directly on this website. A student scholarship is applied for through the NAAAEA chapter nearest you, since the Association funds the chapter and the chapter selects its own recipients. Chapter contacts are listed on the chapters page.
Is membership of the Association required?
Yes, for licensing assistance: it is open to members of any AAAEA chapter. Chapters are listed on the chapters page. Chapter grants are by their nature made to NAAAEA chapters in good standing on their national dues.
May I receive mentorship without applying for financial assistance?
Yes. Members may register on the licensing assistance page for a mentor and preparation resources without ever applying for financial assistance. The Association’s Mentorship Program is administered separately.
How does this differ from the National AAAEA Annual Scholarship?
The Annual Scholarship is awarded by the Association to individual students on a fixed deadline. Grants under this program fund a chapter’s own scholarship program on a rolling basis.
What is the NCEES Foundation’s role?
The NCEES Foundation supports the program. It does not review applications or select recipients; all decisions are made by the Association.
How is applicant information handled?
Applications and supporting documents are retained by the Association and used only to administer the program. Reporting is confined to aggregate figures. A name or photograph is used publicly only with the permission granted on the form.
