The Challenge
We're looking for an experienced Electronics Technician to join the Ferry team. Join us and work for the largest state-run ferry system in the United States!
In this role, you will
-
- Perform repair and preventive maintenance work on highly complex marine electronic systems and equipment.
- Oversee install electronics, troubleshoot faulty marine electronic equipment including VHF Radios, Marine Radars, and ChartPlotters.
- Ensure systems and devices function properly at the statewide and large regional levels.
- Travel to off-site locations to perform equipment repairs and installations.
What You Bring
-
- Extensive knowledge about the design and modification of complex electronic devices interfacing with marine electronics systems.
- Expertise performing calibrations, troubleshooting, reading schematic drawings, testing prototypes, performing wire appraisals, and replacing wires, electrical cables, and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of electronic principles, fundamentals of physics related to electronics, and math principles related to electronic circuit analysis.
- Thorough knowledge of the uses of standard and specialized electronic testing equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, and materials used in the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of radio receiving and transmitting equipment.

- Unique circuit design is common at this level.
Management Prefers
-
- Candidates with 4+ years experience with Furuno or Raymarine electronic systems.
Education & Experience
-
- Associate's degree in Electronics, and
- 3+ years experience repairing/maintaining complex electronic systems, including some responsibility for the design of electronic apparatus; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
